• THE MANDATE

The Small Enterprises Development Company Limited (SEDCO) is committed in the Development and Promotion of Swazi owned Small, Micro and Medium sized Enterprises (SMME’s) through out Swaziland. It has been doing that for over 37 years through the provision of package of services that suit the needs of the market.

• MISSION STATEMENT

The mission statement of SEDCO is “ To contribute to the creation of wealth and jobs throughout Swaziland by stimulating growth in new, emerging and existing SME’s through enterprise promotion and the provision of an affordable package of business support services”.

• The Motto

SEDCO motto is “ Small Business is our Business”.

THE GOAL OF SEDCO

The main goal of SEDCO is to help stimulate the Micro, Small and Medium Scale enterprise sector, which contributes to increased employment opportunities and the creation of wealth through turning job seekers to job makers.

• CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

The Board of Directors subscribes to the principles of corporate governance as pronounced in the King’s recommendation on corporate governance. The Board also retains full responsibility for the direction and control of the company. The company maintains systems of internal controls designed to guard against material losses and to provide reasonable assurance that the assets are safeguarded against unauthorized use and that transactions are properly authorized and recorded.

• HUMAN RESOURCES

The staff complement is currently at 43 employees, which is lead by Mr. Dorrington Matiwane as the Managing Director.

The company is keen to keep and maintain healthy employees. Employees enjoy contributory medical schemes as well as compulsory pension and group life cover. In addition, members of staff also benefit from housing scheme through the metropolitan Defined contribution Scheme.

The company is also committed to staff development and training of its employees to better face the challenges that come with business opportunities. The employees are trained in different courses relevant to challenges of their scope of work. 

SEDCO has built estates and offices in the four regions of Swaziland a position that makes SEDCO reaches her clients easily. Offices are situated in the following areas:

• Nhlangano at the post office building
• Mbabane Industrial Site
• Sidwashini Industrial Site
• Vuvulane (next to VIF)
• Manzini (Next Metro) and
• Piggs Peak (on Bulembu Road).

The company also uses the Tinkhundla centers to get in touch with its clients.
