SEDCO Workshops Available For Entrepreneurs

MBABANE – SEDCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khethiwe Mhlanga says workshops in Mbabane, Sidwashini, and Piggs Peak are available for utilisation by entrepreneurs, especially young people.

Mhlanga said currently, SEDCO had 71 workshops in three business incubation centres in the Hhohho region, and 316 people are employed at SEDCO estates in the Hhohho region. She said at SEDCO they have dedicated and skilled business coaches that help entrepreneurs with business coaching and developing business plans so they could access funding.

Mhlanga highlighted that for this year’s Entrepreneur of Year Awards, the Hhohho region had the second-highest number of entrants, with 51 applications

received.

She said 62 percent of applicants were young people between 18 and 35 and only 35 percent of the applications were from women. She mentioned that this meant a need to intensify efforts to promote and develop women’s entrepreneurship in the Hhohho region.

“This year’s applicants come from industries as varied as construction, technology, retail, agribusiness, and handicraft,” she said.
